10 Unique Activities For Your Ohio Elopement

Want your Ohio elopement to be epic but not quite sure what activities you could include? Check out this list of 10 unique activities for your elopement day in Ohio.

Who am I, and why am I talking to you about elopement activities?

Hey, I’m Desiree! I am an elopement photographer based in Northeast Ohio. I help couples dream up awesome elopements that are true to them and their interests.

Now, back to the list:

1) Go Horseback Riding

Have you always loved horses or have you always envisioned riding off into the sunset with your love? There’s no time like the present! Look into horseback riding experiences or incorporate your own horses into your big day.

2) Hang Out With Alpacas

Okay, my mind is clearly on the farm. But hear me out… how cool would this be? Search for an alpaca farm near you and see if they offer individual experiences with their alpacas.

3) Spend a Day on the Lake

Is your ideal elopement day a fun and relaxing experience with your partner? Why not spend the day on the lake soaking up the sun, going fishing, swimming, and grilling?

4) Take Off in a Hot Air Balloon or Helicopter

It doesn’t get more unique and awe-inspiring than spending your elopement day in the sky! Search in your area for things like hot air balloon and helicopter rides to add a really epic experience to your day.

5) Explore a Flower Field

Depending on the time of year you elope, there may be an unexpected amount of flowers in bloom. You just have to know where to find them. Do a quick search of farms or wildflower fields in your area and see when they are in season. Some popular ones in my area are lavender and sunflowers.

This gorgeous lavender field is located just outside of Cleveland!

6) Play a Game Together

Go bowling, go axe throwing, go golfing, go to a board game cafe. If you have a favorite game or activity together, why not do it on your elopement day?

7) Go to the Zoo

Many zoos allow photography with a permit. They may even have special package options for elopements and weddings that allow you to have parts of the zoo to yourself for a while. Reach out to the zoo in your elopement location and see if they have something similar.

8) Get Matching Tattoos

Want to remember this day forever? You and your love could get matching tattoos to commemorate your day.

9) Wander a Botanical Garden

Botanical gardens will forever be one of my favorite things. Eloping in the winter and want to still have some greenery in your day? Botanical garden. Want to say your vows surrounded by plants? Botanical garden. It’s always the answer.

10) Attend a Festival or Fair

This is obviously super seasonal, but how cool would it be to spend part of your elopement day at something like a large hot air balloon festival or a fun county fair? Maybe a food-themed festival? Lots of options here depending on where you are located! Just make sure the festival allows photography.
