It was so fun working with the C Family for a fall mini session at Sand Run Metro Park in Akron, Ohio this year! This was my second session with them, and it’s really amazing to see how their children have grown so big in such a little time.
If you know me, you know I love the Big Bend trailhead at Sand Run Metro Park! It is one of my favorite spots in Akron, Ohio for photography and hiking in general. The trailhead opens up on a wide pond area surrounded by tall trees. Then once you get onto the main trail itself, there is great shade, an offshoot of the river, scenic wooden paths, and the CVNP train rolling by on occasion!
Since this was a mini session, we stayed relatively close to the trailhead entrance to maximize our time. It had rained earlier in the day, so we decided to start on the wooden path area and work our way back to the trailhead’s pond area.
And I’m glad we did, because halfway through the session, we began hearing the horn of the CVNP scenic train! The C Family lined up on the fence to watch it go by, and the conductor even waved to the kids. Photographic magic!
Once the train had passed, we made our way to the pond for some classic family photos on the beautiful log benches to wrap up the session. All in all, a super fun family session!
