A & T planned a full-day winter elopement in Akron, Ohio. The amount of time was perfect to fit in all their favorite activities and take things slow throughout the day. They enjoyed each other’s company while getting ready, visited a local art museum, said vows in the place they met, stopped at their favorite bubble tea spot, and ended the day with romantic fireside charcuterie.
A & T’s day started slow inside a beautiful, light-filled photo studio in downtown Akron. The space made the perfect backdrop for getting ready together. The quiet moments — getting dressed, putting final touches on makeup, and writing vows — felt calm and unhurried.
After getting ready, A & T headed to the Akron Art Museum to explore the exhibits and see the building’s modern architecture. Their quiet walk through the galleries gave them time to breathe and just be together. The museum rotates exhibits and many were new to them. The friendly docents also pointed out the most popular exhibits and famous paintings.
Bonus: The weather was snowy and rainy on A & T’s day, so the museum was the perfect indoor location, and it ended up being almost empty. A & T had the whole museum to themselves – perfect for an intimate elopement in Akron!
A & T headed over to Kent, Ohio for the next portion of the day. They bundled up and said their vows and exchanged rings in the location that they met and fell in love.
With snow all around them and no one else in sight, this was the perfect, intimate elopement. There were no crowds, no pressure, just the two of them and their love.
After vows, A & T stopped to drink bubble tea at Ming’s Bubble Tea in Kent, Ohio – their favorite local spot! It was a sweet, cozy break to warm up and relax after spending some time in the snow.
They wrote a wish for the wishing wall and talked quietly together while enjoying bubble tea. It was the perfect moment to soak in the excitement of the day and celebrate with a favorite drink.
As the sun began to go down, A & T wrapped up the day fireside. They spent the evening with cozy blankets, a crackling fire flames, and a delicious charcuterie board with chocolate-covered strawberries from Graze Craze in Stow. It was simple, intimate, and the perfect end to their winter elopement in Akron, Ohio.
A & T’s full-day elopement was the perfect example of how elopements don’t have to be quick courthouse vows or just checking off the box that you’re officially married. Elopements can be a full-day celebration of you and your love in all the ways that are unique and exciting to you.
