Next to hiring your perfect photographer, I’d rank this as the number 2 most important part of your elopement investment. You might be thinking you just need a place to stay, but you really need somewhere epic. This is 1) your first potential rain location 2) likely going to be featured heavily in your photos from your elopement 3) a place that will help make your elopement feel like a full experience. That’s why I’ve compiled some of my favorite Airbnbs for elopements on the Oregon Coast to help give you some inspiration.

North Coast Airbnbs

Falcon Cove Retreat (Near Cannon Beach)

• Why I love this spot: A-frame cabin that’s well-decorated, hot tub, fire table, in walking distance to a beach
• What you could do here: beautiful spot for pretty much anything you want to do during your elopement. You can roast s’mores, write vows, cuddle on the couch, chill in the hot tub, etc. 

Raven Hill Studio (Near Cannon Beach)

• Why I love this spot: modern home that’s well-decorated, nice big windows that let in light for photos, beautiful porch area with a view
• What you could do here: this one is a good spot for getting ready, writing vows, or chilling on the couch or porch together. 

The Forest Cabin (Near Neskowin)

• Why I love this spot: modern home that has a cozy, warm vibe. Nice big windows and a few skylights. 
• What you could do here: this one is a good spot for getting ready, writing vows, cozying up together, hanging out outside, making breakfast or dinner together.

Roads End Getaway (Lincoln City)

Why I love this spot: I don’t know that you can find much better than a hot tub with views directly on the beach! This feels like the perfect beach house, and you will be right next to an access point so it’s super convenient. There are a lot of windows at the location and it has a homey vibe. Side note, I really love the beach this is located on!

What you could do here: this one is a good spot for writing vows, cozying up together, chilling in the hot tub or on the porch at sunset.

Central Coast Airbnbs

Riverfront Aframe (Near Siuslaw National Forest)

• Why I love this spot: This one is a little further out but TOTALLY worth it. If you’re talking epic stays, it really doesn’t get better than this riverfront A-frame cabin. The architecture is beautiful, the interior is beautiful, the views are beautiful. Truly 10/10. 
• What you could do here: this one is a good spot for everything – writing vows, hot tub, kayaking, hanging out, getting ready, ALL THE THINGS. 

Coastal Retreat with Sauna (Near Yachats)

• Why I love this spot: Located in the adorable town of Yachats, you’re going to be in a prime location. If you’re wanting more color and an artsy, cozy vibe for decor this is a great cabin. Also it has a sauna and a fire pit – enough said.
• What you could do here: great for getting ready, writing vows, unwinding in the sauna, s’mores, cooking a meal together, chilling on the couch.

South Coast Airbnbs

The Cocoon Cottage (Near Coos Bay)

• Why I love this spot: completely whimsical cottage-core vibes and I love it. If you’re looking for a unique stay for your elopement this is it! There is a private dock and you can use the boat to access the airbnb. There’s also a sauna, cowboy bathtub, fire pit, and little mushroom-themed seating area. 
• What you could do here: okay so it’s pretty much great for everything. The only thing that may be difficult is getting ready photos if you’re wanting to go all out, but this would be the perfect spot for getting ready together! But chilling in the sauna, s’mores, taking the boat out, etc. it’s all *chef’s kiss*

Exclusive River Escape (Near Gold Beach)

• Why I love this spot: if you were looking for a forest escape, you’ve found it! I love the cozy forest vibes of this Airbnb. It’s beautifully decorated and completely on theme for a Southern Oregon Coast elopement. You’ve also got a beautiful deck area, fire pit, and hot tub. 
• What you could do here: another one that’s great for everything! Whether you are wanting to cozy up and have a chill morning, relax in the hot tub, roast some s’mores, make a meal together, etc. you can do it here.

What to Look for When Choosing Your Airbnb

You want somewhere epic and photogenic. Here’s how to make that happen:

• Choose bright, open spaces. That means better lighting for your photos!
• Look for unique spaces. A-frame cabins, domes, charming cottages – all are going to be beautiful.
• Find cabins that offer more than just housing. Look for hot tubs, fire pits, gorgeous views, beach access, and more.
• Look for potential first look locations. If you want to include a first look in your elopement activities, make sure you are on the lookout for a cabin that has a pretty yard or porch where you could do it!

What to Avoid When Choosing Your Airbnb

Here’s a list of what to avoid as you are choosing the perfect cabin:

• Avoid cramped and overly dark spaces. If it’s a studio apartment with no windows, I recommend a hard pass. 
• Avoid dated decor. You don’t want this to look like you’re in someone’s grandma’s living room that hasn’t been updated since the 90’s, right? Avoid those vibes.
• Check the reviews and avoid the bad ones at all costs! You want to enjoy your stay, not belatedly discover the cabin has issues with cleaning or that the hot tub is always out! Check those reviews y’all!
• Avoid locations that don’t allow guests. I always recommend checking with your host before booking to make sure they are okay with having your photographer and potentially other vendors (hair and makeup artist!) on site for your elopement. Some strictly prohibit guests and say that in the description, so make sure you are avoiding those ones!
